Kinja'd!!!

Did something I’d not yet done before: I bought a couple baby gates. I acquired them at Aldi today (cheaper than online and easier to return, haha) after the wife and I discussed acquiring some over the last few weeks. They’re satisfactorily sturdy and only took a few minutes to install, and don’t look bad to boot. Wife helped me with the first one because she likes being handy, and let me do the second (harder) one myself.

I also learned/confirmed that the two doorways (or would they be entryways since there’s no door?) that lead from the front of my house to my kitchen are just under 3” different in width, necessitating some mildly difficult articulation of the second gate to make it fit in the smaller entryway, but it wasn’t too bad. At least the gate is light and didn’t bend or twist while trying to install.

Plus no one got hurt, which is a real treat when the wife and I get DIY/crafty.

Ha, no babies, just dogs, one of which likes to explore the house and find new places to poop when my wife and I aren’t home (and even when we are!) and has found ways around/through our makeshift barriers. Apparently it is a Chihuahua thing, though our other Chihuahua-mix (both are rescues) doesn’t do that.

I realize after the fact I didn't reference the reasons for the gates. I think it is because I was so shocked that the picture attached correctly!
